Limp Bizkit vuelve a sus orígenes - [2009]

LOS ANGELES, 12 Feb

Las diferencias entre el cantante Fred Durst y el guitarrista Wes Borland provocaron que una de las bandas más emblemáticas del nu-metal perdiera a uno de los mejores músicos del momento. Ahora, ambos parecen haber superado esas tensiones y Limp Bizkit ha anunciado que regresa a los estudios y escenarios con su formación original.

En 2001, sin que quedara muy claro el porqué de la salida, Wes Borland abandonó Limp Bizkit, sólo para volver tres años más tarde y trabajar con su antigua banda durante dos años, hasta 2006. Pero lo cierto es que el espíritu de Borland pareció siempre flotar sobre la banda; él fue el responsable de que Korn se fijara en las creaciones de Fred Durst y el principal artífice del sonido que llevó a la fama a Limp Bizkit.

Aunque a mediados de 2008 Marilyn Manson anunció que había fichado a Wes Borland como guitarrista para su nuevo álbum, 'The High End of Low', todavía en proceso de grabación, informaciones de 'Contact Music' recogidas por Europa Press, apuntan que el guitarrista se ha reconciliado con Fred Durst. Ambos han hecho público un comunicado en el que informan que Limp Bizkit, el grupo que ha vendido 33 millones de discos en todo el mundo, vuelve a los estudios de grabación y, en primavera, a los escenarios, con la alineación original.

El cantante Fred Durst, el guitarrista Wes Borland, el bajista Sam Rivers, el batería John Otto y el Dj Lethal, grabarán en los próximos meses nuevo material que presentarán en un tour mundial esta misma primavera. Dicha gira incluirá Europa, un continente poco o nada visitado anteriormente por Limp Bizkit, con visitas a lugares como Rusia, Ucrania o los países del Báltico -donde nunca han tocado- así como alguno de los grandes festivales del viejo continente, como el Rock Am Ring en Alemania.

"Hemos decidido que estamos más disgustados y aburridos con el estado de la música heavy popular que lo que estábamos entre nosotros. Al margen de los caminos separados a los que nos han llevado nuestros caminos, reconocemos que hay una energía única y poderosa en este particular grupo de gente que no hemos encontrado en ningún otro sitio. Por eso Limp Bizkit vuelve", reza el comunicado que hará las delicias de los fans del nu-metal y el rap-metal.

La reunión de los miembros originales de Limp Bizkit no ha sido fácil. Durante los últimos tiempos Fred Durst ha anunciado en múltiples ocasiones que la banda volvería a su estado original, aunque el más reticente parece haber sido Wes Borland, que ha desarrollado varios proyectos en solitario, como Black Light Burns, con los que decía estar "pasándolo muy bien", llegando incluso a señalar que con este grupo componía sobre letras con sentido, no "frases sueltas sobre música que suena bien".
